Week of Jan 17

Evan spent the Week of Jan 17- Jan 21 with his mom so she took care of his schooling.  She provided me with a daily summary:

Monday:

Science-Chapter 3, "Your wonderful Body. Read and discussed pages 79-82 with a focus on the bold words after reading and discussing.  Did the, "BRAIN DRAIN" on pg. 82.

History-Chapter 1, The Beginning. Read pages 3-4 and discussed. Focus on the special characteristics (par 1 pg. 3)

Grammar- Unit 1, Using Manuscript Form Lesson 1-Observing the rules for using abbreviations. Read and discussed

Independent Reading, "Brian's Return"  Evan read chapters 8-9

Spelling-List 1. Studied words..read through, wrote them 10X each. Reviewed rules.

Vocab-Studied words and definitions. Wrote sentence for each word.

Tech-More work modifications with the Nerf Gun!!

Math-Trouble with CD, but did some problems from the text.Lesson 21

Tuesday:

Spelling-Studied words, verbal quiz. Wrote missed words 10X each.

Vocab-Used words in a sentence verbally

History-Chap 1, cont. "Rebellion". Read and discussed focusing on Bold words. Also discussed culture, and humanism. Did check-up on pg. 6.

Grammar-Lesson 2. Observe the rules for writing numbers. Discussed. Did exercise on pg. 3.

Science-3.2 Interrelated systems. Pages 83-87. read and discussed. Went over the systems and their functions.

Math-Lesson 21 and 22

Independent reading- "Brian's Return" Chap 10-11


Wednesday

Math-Lesson 23

History-A Chance for a new beginning Pgs. 6-7 Read and discussed and targeted on bold words. Reviewed Nation and Culture.Did exercise on pg. 7.

Grammar-Unit 2, Getting to know your library pg. 4-5. Lesson 1 and 2. Dewey Decimal System, Library of Congress, Classification system.

Spelling-List 1 reviewed and gave quiz. Wrote missed word 10X each.

Vocab-Reviewed words and meanings. Used words in sentence.

Science- Read and discussed pgs. 89-93 focusing on bold words.  Took quiz 8 on pg 15. Went over wrong answers.

Thursday

Grammar-Using the catalog Pg 5. Read and discussed. Using Reference Section pg. 6-7

Science- Read and discussed pages 94-97 (Skeletal System) focusing on bold words. Also reviewed Reproductive System and Nervous System.

History- The Legacy of Babel Pg. 8. Read and discussed. Did Chapter 1 Review.

Math-Lesson 24

Spelling-Took quiz Pg. 5 List 1. Missed 1 word. Wrote 10X

Vocab-Took Quiz pg. 5. Missed 2. Discussed and used them in sentence.

Friday

Grammar-Reviewed Unit 1-2. Took quiz1 Pg. 1. Got 100%

History-Reviewed Chap 1 pg. 5. Got 100%

Science-Reviewed Quiz 8. Did experiment on pg. 98 on Skin Sensitivity. Did BRAIN DRAIN on pg. 99.

Spelling-Reviewed words. Verbal quiz. Great!

Vocab-Reviewed Words and meanings. Verbal quiz. Great!

Math-Lesson 25 w/ quiz. 95%, Great!
